Cooling Tower Nomenclature, DELTA COOLING TOWERS INDIA

Cooling Tower range is a diffential temperature between the water coming into to the cooling tower and the water leaving the cooling tower. For example, if entering water (scorching water) temperature is 100° F, and leaving water (cold water) temperature is 90°F, the cooling tower range will probably be 10° F.

Cooling Tower Evaporation Loss

Cooling Tower Basins

Cooling tower evaporation loss is the quantity of water evaporated throughout the circulation.

Blow Down

Blow down might also be reffered as bleed or purge. It is the water flushed out of the circulation system to counter the accumulation of dissolved solids.

Cooling tower approach is a distinction in temperature between the cooling tower outlet temperature and the wet bulb temperature. For example if the outlet temperature from cooling tower is 90° F and the design wet bulb temperature is 83° F, the cooling tower approach can be 7° F.
